Mals eCommerce Setup Checklist
This is a quick list -- not comprehensive, but will give you a good start! Please login to your Mals eCommerce account, then click Cart Setup, to make these ajustments.
FONT AND ALIGNMENT

LIST OF STATES
-- You can leave this as "Don't use any list", which is the default setting. You will have the option to have customers choose their state in another section.
REQUIRED FIELDS
Choose which fields you want to have validated.
-- Checking boxes here forces your customer to fill out form fields. Use it wisely as to not irritate people. :)

SHIPPING
Set-up your method for calculating shipping

SALES TAX
Set-up your method for calculating tax
You'll need to know three things before you setup your taxes:
1. What is your local sales tax?
2. Is shipping taxable in your state?
3. Are you required to charge your state tax on out-of-state sales?
Answering those three questions will help you fill out the tax area. Most states are only required to collect tax fro in-state sales. In this case you would:
- Choose option 6
- Enter your tax rate
- Enter your state
- Update
** It is UP TO YOU to find your local laws and regulations.
DISCOUNTS

DISCOUNT VOUCHERS
A voucher is a coupon code. This area allows you to create up to 5 coupon codes. Some hints:
- It is easiest to DISREGARD the instructions regarding the "mask" area, but you cannot leave it blank. If you truly hneed ot learn it for the sake of expiration dates, then do so. Otherwise, save yourself the headache!
- Enter CMMYYNNNN in the mask area; If you don't, then customers won't have the option to enter the code.
The rest is self explanatory. Under "Alias" just enter your coupon code.
When the coupon as expired - go in and delete it.
Issue min pertains to the mask - default to 1
Issue max pertains to the mask - default to 99999

ORDER NOTIFICATIONS
Usually this is fine just set as it is. Keep in mind that orders will come from web@aitsafe.com -- so add it to your safe list.
EMAIL CUSTOMER RECEIPTS
Self explanatory.
SECURE PAGES
Self explanatory. We think the default settings are fine.
BUTTON STYLES AND BEHAVIOUR
CONTINUE SHOPPING BUTTON

IMAGE BUTTONS
-- By default, Mals has standard html buttons. If you would prefer your own images, this is where you would update the location(s).

Set-up a remote HTTP link to another application.

This is very complicated, please see the help files at Mals-e.com for further instructions. We leave the default setting.
