I don't
even know what a domain name or hosting IS - where do I start?
Think of it as real estate. A
domain name is your address but an address is useless unless
there's property. The hosting is your property. This is where
you store your files.
There are several places to
purchase domains and hosting, and many businesses offer you a
discount for purchasing them at the same time. You should never
pay more than $10 for your domain.
Hosting prices vary from
$3/mo. all the way up to $300/mo. It depends on your needs.
If you're just starting out you'll be safe with a small package.
You can always switch your hosting plan to the next level.
Why do you need my
account information?
After we create your website
design, we'll need to upload it to your hosting. In order to do
this we'll need your FTP (file transfer protocol) account
information. Many hosting companies allow you to setup
additional FTP accounts. This will include:
Host Address (i.e. ftp.example.com)
FTP Username
FTP Password
We may also need the account information for
your domain name, but that is usually not necessary.
How long will it take you to
complete my website?
This depends on how many
projects are ahead of you the service(s) that you choose.
A dynamic shopping cart site can take up to a full week to
complete. A small & simple site may only take a day.
Once we determine what you need, we can give you a rough
estimation.
I saw a website that I
really liked - can you make me one just like it?
While we can't duplicate a
website for obvious copyright reasons, we can certainly get the
overall feel of it and translate it to your project.
What
forms of payment do you accept?
We accept credit card payment
through PayPal. You do not need a PayPal account to use the
service. We'll also accept money orders but will wait for them
to clear before beginning your design.
What are your
payment terms?
For jobs under $100 we require
full payment once the job is underway. For jobs over $100, we
require 50% retainer and 50% upon completion. Should services be
added during the design process they will be added to the final
balance.
What is your
return/refund policy?
We stand behind our work, but
due to the nature of the work it's difficult to have a 'return'
policy. Our goal is to leave every transaction with a fully
satisfied customer.
You will receive updates
through the duration of the design process and you can request
changes each time. This leaves you in control - we want your site
to look just as you imagined!
Do you do Flash
work?
We currently do not offer
Flash work, but hope to in the future.
